How to Install Sintered Stone

1.Surface Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and level. Remove any debris, dust, or existing materials. A smooth, flat surface is essential for proper adhesion.

2.Measuring and Cutting: Measure the area where the sintered stone will be installed. Use a diamond blade wet saw to cut the sintered stone to the required dimensions. Always wear appropriate safety gear when cutting.

3.Dry Layout: Before applying adhesive, lay out the sintered stone pieces to confirm the fit and pattern. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure a precise installation.

4.Applying Adhesive: Use a high-quality thin-set adhesive suitable for sintered stone. Mix the adhesive according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Apply the adhesive to the substrate using a notched trowel, spreading it evenly to ensure good coverage.

5.Placing the Stone: Carefully place the sintered stone pieces onto the adhesive. Press down firmly to ensure good contact with the adhesive. Use spacers to maintain consistent gaps between the pieces for grouting.

6.Aligning and Leveling: Check the alignment and level of each piece as you go. Adjust as necessary to ensure a flat and even surface. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap the stone into place if needed.

7.Grouting: Once the adhesive has set (usually after 24 hours), prepare the grout according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Apply the grout using a rubber float, pressing it into the gaps between the stone pieces. Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge before it dries.

8.Cleaning and Sealing: After the grout has cured (typically 24-48 hours), clean the sintered stone surface thoroughly to remove any grout residue. Apply a sealant if recommended by the stone manufacturer to enhance durability and maintain the stone’s appearance.
